Despatch Industries Honored with Gigawatt Golden Award at SNEC PV Power Expo

2015-05-05

Despatch Industries was selected to receive Top Ten Highlight’s Gigawatt Award at SNEC 2015 PV Power Expo. This is the fifth year that the SNEC organizing committee has presented the Top Ten Highlights Awards which recognize companies for advancement and innovation in solar technology.

The Gigawatt Award recognizes the next generation technology found in Despatch’s Safire™ firing furnace. Each lane of the dual lane furnace is completely isolated so that load changes or optimization in one lane have no influence on the other lane. Separate top and bottom temperature control and Microzone™ precision provide the flexibility and control required for next generation pastes and cell architectures.

“Our Safire firing furnace technology is known for improving solar cell performance,” said Gary Cheng, Despatch Industries Solar Product Manager “and we are very pleased to receive this honor.”

Also noted during the Top Ten Highlights presentation is the stability and consistency of the Safire which results in less scrapped cells and lower cost of operation. Hot swappable lamps and a maintenance-free dryer reduce downtime by as much as 85 percent.

The SNEC PV Power Exhibition and Conference takes place at the Shanghai New International Expo Center and has grown into one of the largest photovoltaic power events in the world. The 150,000 square meter exhibition space attracted over 1,500 exhibitors from over 90 countries. For more information on the SNEC exhibition, visit http://www.snec.org.cn.
